Filene's Basement's "Running of the Brides" was a legendary annual event where brides-to-be flocked to the store in search of deeply discounted wedding gowns.
Held in select locations, the event offered designer dresses at drastically reduced prices. Brides, often accompanied by teams, would rush into the store, grab as many dresses as possible, and try them on in the open, creating a high-energy, chaotic, yet thrilling experience. The event was famous for its bargains and the competitive, yet celebratory atmosphere.

The Concept
Working with a copywriter, we created the Filene’s Basement ad campaign to evoke the elegance of a wedding invitation, contrasting it with the playful chaos of the illustrations. This juxtaposition highlights the excitement and frenzy of their "Running of the Brides" event while maintaining a sophisticated feel, reflecting both the high-quality dresses and the unique shopping experience. The combination of refined design elements with a fun, energetic twist captures the essence of the brand and the event’s lively atmosphere.
